Mathiesen’s participation in in-cosmetics, Barcelona 2023

From March 28 to 30, in-cosmetics, the largest fair for cosmetic ingredients, packaging and services related to beauty and personal care in its global version, was held in Barcelona – Spain.

Regarding general market trends, sustainability continues to be a topic of great importance and the most seen word in the various stands and product promotions was “upcycling”, which refers to recovering and giving a new use to food waste, using them in the development of cosmetic ingredients. Some examples are active ingredients extracted from the fruit drying process, coffee grounds as an exfoliant, among others.

The transparency and feeling of purity and naturalness that personal care products with these characteristics can convey to consumers also continue to be a trend in personal care products.
